“I was given a tremendous amount of credit for having unbelievable insights, more than any known shrink could hope ever to have. I might have stumbled on something, but really wasn’t something you could count on and call ‘insight’.” -David Levine, 1926-2009

Caricature Artists Dream Face
When your at a party drawing caricatures like I do you are always looking for that unique goofy face to draw. The face that screams caricature me, please. Some faces are meant to be a cartoon, and you know you've got the perfect victim to sketch. A party caricature drawing is drawn so fast, in less then five minutes, so you know you only have one shot at it. A studio gift caricature you can have hours to draw that same persons likeness.
When the ideal caricature subject does sit down you know you have just hit paydirt, and the crowd will go wild with the hoot and hollers of laughter. That is when you feel most gratified with your art and it makes you want more. More of the learning process to get better and better at your caricature art. Caricatures are not a science and I find that I do my best work when not thinking. You get into the caricature zone where you are spitting out images that are just fantastic and comically hilarious. Thats when my cartoon artwork is most fun for me. Unfourtunately you can't turn on that creative zone in your brain and it comes and goes. A bad day can ruin your ability to give 100% to your art. When you are riding the wave at the top every cartoon picture you draw is top notched. Remember to look at your caricature subject, you might have that caricature artists dream face sitting right in front of you.
